NAMCO BANDAI Games newest flight action game, Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation, takes the popular franchise to new heights with its Dynamic Operation System feature. Fans of the series will experience new intensity and depth on the battlefields as the Dynamic Operations System allows players to engage in multiple operations at one time. Taking advantage of the Xbox 360, players will be able to control all air, ground and sea units at one time, as they all take on different objectives on the battlefield. As the battlefield comes alive, players will have multiple operations going on simultaneously in vast war zones, just like in real life war.
Keeping the intensity sky high, Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation never lets the player have a dull moment as up to six operations can be happening at once. As soon as the player succeeds in one operation, they are immediately thrown into another fierce battle happening at the same time. After each operation is cleared, the situation of the battle dynamically changes according to the tactical order the player chooses to take on each operation. To win the mission and move forward in the game, a certain number of operations must be cleared.
Examples of The Dynamic Operations System:
- When an enemies’ power facility gets destroyed, their power supply is diminished, leaving them vulnerable and unable to counterattack.
- When an operation to help a friend’s helicopter, carrying ground forces, lands in an enemies’ airport, succeeds, the airport becomes available for players and their allied assault forces to refill and change their weapons or recover from damage there. Takeoff and landing can be done at this airport in the middle of battle without changing maps.
- When an operation to guard a very important aircraft that houses strong radars and computers, succeeds, the fighting strength of the player’s and the adjacent friend’s units increase, giving players an advantage in their next operation.
The following units are at the player’s command with the new Allied Support System:
- Fighter planes are quick to arrive to the battle, and their speed and firepower makes them a versatile ally against aerial, naval and ground enemy units.
- Tanks can unleash an onslaught of heavy fire on ground-based units, but cannot attack enemies in the skies. They will remain in their designated area, firing on any enemies that come into range.
- Helicopters patrol a given area of the skies, navigating difficult terrain such as rivers and mountains that are inaccessible to tanks. While they can engage both ground and air enemies, they lack the speed to effectively counter fighter planes.
- Naval fleets patrol the seas with anti-air missiles and machine guns, long-range artillery and cruise missiles that make them dangerous to any type of enemy that enters their range.
- Heavy Bombers are large, slow planes that carry enough explosives to bring enemy ground forces to their knees through carpet-bombing, but cannot defend themselves from enemy fighter planes.
- Electric warfare support planes do not carry any weapons, but can analyze enemy data to give players the edge in the skies by providing increased missile accuracy.
Importantly, the player will have the freedom to tactically choose the order of which of the above operations to engage in. The outcome of each operation will have an impact on other surrounding operations.
