April Software NPDs: GTA and Mario Kart Equal Cash
Fri, 16 May 2008 17:32:30 +0000
As it turns out, GameStop’s claim that 64% of all copies of GTA IV sold were on Xbox 360 was spot on — 64.9% is the exact number if you do the math with NPD’s numbers for the month of April. Between the 360 and PS3 versions of the game, GTA IV managed to sell 2.85 million even though it was released on April 29 — not too shabby.
"Metallic Rose" is a New DS Color, Not an 80's Hair Band
Fri, 16 May 2008 17:01:13 +0000
When Nintendo announced they were unveiling “Metallic Rose,” the first thing that came to mind was that they had somehow put together a 80’s hair band to promote all things Nintendo across the U.S. and rock faces along the way. Instead, it turns out it’s the color of a new DS. The Metallic Rose DS (i.e. “pink DS”) was originally featured as part of a Nintendogs bundle, but now it’s getting a new release as a standalone piece of hardware. I’m guessing this new color is aimed primarily at the female demographic, considering they’ve enlisted Carrie Underwood and America Ferrara (Ugly Betty) to do commercials for it. Liv Tyler is also set to do advertisements for a Crimson/Black version. The new Metallic Rose DS is slated to hit store shelves later this month. And now I’m going to have that damn “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” song stuck in my head all day.

Fri, 16 May 2008 16:36:27 +0000
Oh, Uwe Boll. You just can’t catch a break. The infamous director recently announced that his latest film, Postal, is getting an incredibly limited release on May 23rd. How limited? Four screens, and no, that’s not a typo. Why is that? Well, here are Boll’s rantings thoughts on the matter:
April Hardware NPDs: What Happened to Sony and Microsoft?
Fri, 16 May 2008 16:06:32 +0000
I’m at a loss to really explain what happened in April; if you’re anything other than a Nintendo fan, you’re not going to be pleased with the hardware sales figures. Not a single system other than Nintendo’s duo managed to crack 200,000 units for the month of April in the US, according to the NPD Group.
Silent Hill: Homecoming - Screens for Both PS3 and 360, and Two Nice Trailers
Fri, 16 May 2008 15:09:53 +0000
Konami is all over the place this morning, and the best thing I have seen so far are the assets they released for Silent Hill: Homecoming. Maybe I am just prejudiced because I like the whole horror genre better than anything else, or maybe it is just because Rock Revolution (the Wii Version) has left a horrible taste in my mouth.
