Golden Axe: Beast Rider Screens Contain Beasts, Riding, and Awesome, In That Order
Fri, 16 May 2008 22:48:44 +0000
Okay, you win, Sega. I didn’t care at all about your newest Golden Axe game, but now these screens just make it looks just too awesome. It looks like the developers could be taking a page from God of War in terms of reaching that epic feel. That, and you can apparently ride and fight ginormous monsters like the ones above. I could do without the Chocobo-looking thing though. You can check out a few more screens for the game here.
The Worst Celebrity Renderings in Games
Fri, 16 May 2008 22:34:07 +0000
Over the years, I’m sure we’ve all played a number of games that featured a character based on a celebrity. Or at least, I’m sure that was the developers’ intention. Games Radar has an interesting feature up now running down some of the worst celebrity depictions in games. I know I’ve seen quite a few that looked odd to me, but seeing them all in one spot is kind of like a traumatizing trip to a circus. My favorite though has to be this comparison of Macaulay Culkin in Home Alone to the game. It wouldn’t surprise me if the artist for that game went on to do Stubbs the Zombie.

Ask a Ninja: Sponsored by a "Flippin' Awesome Game," Ninja Gaiden II
Fri, 16 May 2008 22:11:49 +0000
Occasionally, the Xbox Live Marketplace brings us a random and yet welcome surprise. This week, that surprise happens to be a hilarious episode of “Ask a Ninja,” the show where a ninja basically gives you tips for life. Him being a ninja, his advice usually involves killing people and disappearing in a cloud of smoke; and I know it’s helped me out many times. This episode though is sponsored by the upcoming Ninja Gaiden II, which he describes as “a flippin’ awesome game.” In truth, this is probably one of the most relevant celebrity endorsement I’ve seen in a long time.
