Sun, 18 May 2008 00:39:39 +0000
The always strongly opinionated Denis Dyack is heavily embedded in the game creation process at developer Silicon Knights. He’s the director on Too Human, yet continues to also function as the company’s president. But with a staff of 170 people and with the intention of adding another 80 people or so, Dyack is considering stepping aside as the company’s president so that he can focus on the creative side of the business.
Aaron Greenberg Strikes Again: PS3 Being "Squeezed Out"
Sun, 18 May 2008 00:14:09 +0000
It was just a little over a week ago that Microsoft exec Aaron Greenberg randomly lashed out at Sony and what he believed to be their history of over-promising and under-delivering. Speaking with Next Gen about the April NPD numbers and the 360’s competition, Greenberg again had a fairly harsh assessment of the PlayStation 3’s place in the market.

This functionality has been added to the Japanese game Mainichi Issho, and could quite possibly be added to anything from MotorStorm to LittleBigPlanet. (Nothing’s been announced on either of those fronts, or any other, but hypothetically…)

It feels like we’ve been waiting for Castle Crashers for years, but the game is finally complete. It’s done. After many a delay, the game’s development cycle is complete. Of course, now we have to wait for the excruciating certification and testing processes, so the game isn’t exactly on the verge of release. But it is one step closer.

With a month like Nintendo had in April, there’s really no need to provide any sort of spin whatsoever. Just look at the numbers: dominating performances by both of their systems, six of the ten best selling games were on Nintendo platforms, five of which were published by Nintendo. All they really need to do is regurgitate what the NPD released and bam — point made.
Sony's Turn to Spin the NPDs: 410% Increase Year-Over-Year for PS3 Software
Sat, 17 May 2008 21:46:10 +0000
Okay, with Microsoft out of the way, it’s now Sony’s turn to give their spin on the NPD Group’s data for last month. Of the three current-gen consoles, PlayStation 3 sold the least in April (albeit by an extremely slim margin) and, overall, Sony platforms didn’t have a particularly good month. So what angle would Sony take?
