Pydon's Shaders Tweak 1.3 for Crysis.
Pydon's Shaders Tweak for Crysis
Version 1.3 Final, designed for GeForce 8800 and Radeon HD2900/3800 series
---------------------------------
Introduction
---------------------------------
Have you ever wanted to play Crysis on your GeForce 8800 or Radeon HD2900/3800 with the performances of the medium settings, but with a "High" render quality? According to Crytek's optimizations, this is impossible. After several modifications, it appears that the shaders settings have the most important impact on performance: the others parameters like shadows or volumetric have a limited influence on the framerate. In fact, we could lower the detail level of the shaders, however it will significantly reduce image quality and make Crysis look like Far Cry 4 years ago. For surmounting this lack of optimization, I have created a shaders tweak for Crysis that provides a high quality rendering, with optimized shading parameters, to keep a smooth framerate with "High" settings.
What does the Pydon's Shaders Tweak change?
- improves framerate by 33% with "High" settings
- increases vegetation density
- increases rocks and vegetation distance view
- improves water quality
- improves greatly long range textures (bug in the original game)
- improves greatly performance during gunfights
- removes blur effects, except explosion and low health effects
- possibility to activate "Very high" effects with a better framerate than "High" quality mode
Whom is the Pydon's Shaders Tweak made for?
- players who use "High" or "Very high" mode wanting to greatly increase the framerate of Crysis
- players who use "Medium" mode wanting to have a rendering quality similar to "High" mode without heavy performance drop
- players who privilege framerate but do not want to reduce graphics rendering quality
- owners of high end graphic card frustrated by the lack of optimization
---------------------------------
Comparison
---------------------------------
Every screenshot taken on a Core 2 Duo 3 GHz, 2 GB RAM and a 8800GT (Forceware 169.09, 1280*1024)
---------------------------------
Installation
---------------------------------
1. unrar the "System.cfg" file of "high effects" folder in your Crysis installation folder (C:\Program files\Crysis for example)
2. play and enjoy the smoothness of the "Pydon's Shaders Tweak for Crysis"
The "System.cfg" file will be automatically loaded when your start Crysis. If you change video options in game, the settings of the tweak will be overridden in certain cases. You only need to restart the game to enjoy the optimization of the Pydon's Shaders Tweak.
---------------------------------
"Very High" effects installation
---------------------------------
These effects are normally reserved for Windows Vista with DirectX10. However, they are perfectly compatible with Windows XP in DirectX9 mode. The "Very high" effect enable sunbeams through vegetation, high relief rendering, very high water quality and real contrast luminosity. The framerate will be similar to "High" mode, but with a "Very High" quality rendering.
1. unrar the "System.cfg" file of "very high effects" folder in your Crysis installation folder
2. play and enjoy the smoothness of the "Pydon's Shaders Tweak for Crysis" with "Very high" effects
---------------------------------
Uninstallation
---------------------------------
1. delete the file "System.cfg" from your Crysis installation folder
---------------------------------
