Introduction
------------
As you may or may not know the logos featured in Unreal's Intro (Unreal.unr) are literally out of date, all three of them in question have been changed quite a few times over the last several years or so.
This is where Intro 2006 comes in. All the logos have been revised and updated to what's being currently used as of the time that this mod was created. GT's logo has been replaced with Midway's since they are now the company that publish the Unreal series (think Unreal Anthology).
Intro 2006 has been tested with and should work with both the original Unreal and with Unreal Gold.
Note: It's called Intro 2006 because I had originally made the mod back in 2006. After several months or so I managed to find the mod and all the related files. I decided to then finish what I had started.
The Logos
---------
This brief section is for all those interested in where I managed to source all the logos from.
Epic Games:
The first version of their logo I swiped from their website. It was a low quality JPG so I had to clean it up and remove the background elements. Overall the result was less than spectacular. Fortunately about a week or so later Epic uploaded a press kit for their Gears of War website that contained a hi-res PSD of their logo. The version of the logo that you see in the mod was derived from the press kit.
Digital Extremes:
Their logo was by far the hardest to get a good-quality version of. Ultimatley I used a rather large JPG image that I cleaned up and enhanced. Fortunately the logo only had two colours so it was a relatively easy job to do.
Midway:
I managed to get their logo from their Wikipedia article. The modifications I made were that I swapped the background and the text's colours around and I repositioned the logo and the text into a vertical arrangement for presentation purposes.
Installation
------------
Extract Unreal2006.unr to your Unreal's Maps folder.
Extract Intro2006.u to your Unreal's System folder.
Usage
-----
In order for Unreal to use the "updated" version of the flyby sequence you will have to make a modification to your Unreal's Unreal.ini file. This can be found in the "System" folder of where your copy of Unreal was installed such as C:\Unreal\System.
Find and open up the Unreal.ini file and find the line below:
LocalMap=Unreal.unr
Now replace the entire line with this:
LocalMap=Unreal2006.unr
Now whenever Unreal starts the updated intro map should load. Enjoy the up-to-date logos!

Final Word
----------
Just a final word. If Epic's, DE's, Midway's or any other publisher's logos get updated in the future then chances are that a new version of this mod will be released.
