UPDATED AGAIN: NOW WITH HOTTER v1.2 TEXTURE!
Real Lava
by CptJoker
I wasn't quite happy with my first attempt at Real Lava, and Seniorfrito's old and new Improved Lava textures just seemed to be lacking something organic... so I decided to start a texture from scratch. Using photos of real lava flows I've now created a brand new texture that I think has the right intensity for really hot-looking lava! Check it out for yourself, I know I'll be using this from now on. :)
Update v1.2: I just couldn't leave it alone and went and further "tweaked" it (to use common mod parlance :) I think I've found more intensity and a slightly better color... If you liked the 1.1 version instead, I've included that texture too - just delete the "alternatelava12.dds" file found in Textureswater and rename the "old_texture.dds" file to replace it. See the included screenshot for a comparison.
Version 1.2

- UPDATE LOG -
v1.2 Modified texture, minor .esp tweaks, readme tweaks
v1.1 Totally new texture; further tweaks to the .esp
v1.0 Initial release
- What The Mod Does -
Simply replaces the default Oblivion lava texture (and only that one) and tweaks some of the visual characteristics of its flow - all cosmetic, it's otherwise regular Oblivion lava.
- Installation-
1) Unzip the Textures folder and .esp file to your Data folder.
2) Activate the .esp and enjoy!
Optional (for old 1.1 texture)
3) Delete the file "alternatelava12.dds" and rename "old_lavatexture.dds" (as "alternatelava12.dds") in its place.
- Legal and Stuff -
Feel free to use this mod to enhance anything: the game itself, your own mods, anything. I made this in my spare time, so if it can make someone else's experience better, go for it! Just tell them CptJoker sent ya. :D
- Mod Website -
Check the TESSource website (http://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id=6854) for updates.
- If You Are New To Modding -
As with all replacement mods, you'll need an AutoArchiveInvalidation.txt file as well (which goes in the Oblivion folder that contains the Data folder; it doesn't go in the Data folder itself.) Most people who use mods already have one in some form or another, but you can easily create one yourself. Just make a .txt file called AutoArchiveInvalidation.txt and make sure it has the line "Textures / s" or the line "Textures/water/alternatelava12.dds" in it (minus the quotation marks) - else the texture won't show up.
- Conflicts -
None
- Notes -
No _n.dds file this time. Can't seem to notice a difference. :)
