Scorn’s Vampirism v1.0

About
----------------
This mod aims to make playing as a vampire much more enjoyable and so is a complete overhaul of the vampire race. I started off with Kiyoshi’s vampire mod (the majority of the scripting and spell names etc are from his mod).
While Kiyoshi made a great alternative to the lame standard vampire race, I thought I would tailor it more to my own personal tastes.
----------------
Mod Description
----------------
Vampiric Appearance:
----------------
One thing I noticed when I originally became a vampire, is that my character’s face would ALWAYS reset to some ugly 60 year old whenever I reloaded a saved game, even when resetting all of the vampire facial attributes and aging. So my first step was to eliminate the appearance of vampirism. This caused another problem, in that you cannot feed if you are not at least 1 vampirism. So I came up with my solution.
Being a fan of Buffy and Angel, I thought that Vampire’s should look normal most of the time so that they can pass normally in society (as also fits with the game lore). So I have created a “lesser power” that allows the player to toggle between looking like a vampire and looking normal. When vampirism is toggled, the player will become the highest level of vampirism (causing reactions – often hostile – from NPC’s around you), will lose 75 points of personality and 25 points of willpower. When a player has fed, the extreme vampirism is removed and the player will look normal again (although the player can toggle it at any time anyway).
Vampire’s also now have different red eyes that look (in my opinion) better than the original.
----------------
The Need To Feed:
----------------
Vampire’s now must feed at regular intervals (determined by the vampire level) or face consequences. The longer a player does not feed, the greater the penalties become. Once the player reaches a certain level of starvation, he/she will simply die and the game will need to be reloaded. Also, with each level of starvation the player reachers, the greater the vampirism effect becomes, and the worse the NPC reaction. However, the benefits that arise from feeding far outweigh the penalties.
Currently there are 3 ways of feeding;
1. The default way of feeding off sleeping NPC’s
2. Drinking blood potions (different potions remove different amounts of craving and have different power levels)
3. Vampiric Touch (gained when the player becomes a level 3 vampire)
Once a level 2 or higher vampire feeds, they also receive the following benefits from feeding:
• Health, fatigue and magicka are restored
• A temporary Blood Empowerment is gained(effect fades when the player becomes hungry again).
• A temporary “sunscreen” effect is gained which allows the player to move about freely in the sun.
All of the above bonuses are calculated in 3 different ways;
1. For feeding from sleeping NPC’s, the bonus is calculated by the player’s vampire level.
2. For potions, the bonuses are worked out by the refinement and type of blood (ie mortal blood is the weakest, Daedra and vampire blood the most potent).
3. For vampiric touch, the bonus is calculated on the target’s level and creature type (Mortal, Vampire or Daedra)
Be warned however, feeding from vampires will give you negative as well as positive effects (ie adding sun damage and weakness to fire)
Each time a player feeds when they are hungry a feed counter is incremented by 1. Every 25 feeds, the player gains a new vampiric power, and every 75 points (from level 2 onwards) the player gains a new vampire level (increasing their inherent bonuses).
The higher the players Vampire level, the longer it takes for the player to crave blood again. At the highest Vampire level, the player only needs to feed once a week.
The player can only feed off of LIVING targets. Therefore, all Undead, corpses and Antronach’s cannot be fed upon using vampiric touch.

Vampiric Powers:
----------------
When a player first becomes a vampire, they gain the following constant benefits:
• Bonuses to Strength, Endurance, Speed & Agility
• Bonuses to Acrobatics, Athletics & Stealth
• Increased Health, Fatigue & Magicka
• 100% Resistance to disease
• Permanent water breathing (the Undead have no need of oxygen)
• Increased Fatigue regeneration
They also gain the following penalties:
• Weakness to fire
• Sun Damage
They also gain the following lesser powers:
• Celerity - increases the players speed, agility, athletics and acrobatics for 30 seconds, as well as making the player completely immune to falling damage for the duration – feel like jumping off the top of an oblivion tower? No problems with this power!
Each time the player increases Vampire level, the benefits increase and new ones are added. At the highest vampire level, the vampire also gains the following constant benefits:
• Resistance to Frost, Paralysis, Magic & Normal Weapons
• Shield (always active)
• Increased Health & Magicka regeneration
In addition to these constant effects, the player gains the following abilities from feeding (every 25 feeds).
25 Feeds
• Scent Of Blood – detect life (toggle between constantly on or off)
• Vampiric Suggestion – cast on an NPC to cause them to look for a bed and sleep (allowing you to feed)
• Celerity (level 2)
50 Feeds
• Eye Of The Hunter – night eye (toggle between constantly on or off)
• Mesmerising Gaze – Charm target
75 Feeds
• Eviscerate Corpse – removes the heart from a corpse (destroying the corpse in the process causing it to disappear) which can be used to create blood potions
100 Feeds
• Celerity (level 3)
125 Feeds
• Vampiric Touch – allows player to feed from non sleeping targets (is hostile though so use with caution)
150 Feeds
• Will Of The Undead – Turns Undead, and commands humanoids & creatures
175 Feeds
• Celerity (level 4)
• Shroud of Shadows – Advanced chameleon effect
200 Feeds
• Mortis Shield (level 1) – Shield effect
225 Feeds
• Paralysing Gaze – Paralyses a target for 30 seconds (immune to silence and spell reflect/absorb)
250 Feeds
• Celerity (level 5)
275 Feeds
• Terrifying Countenance – Demoralise all those within 20 feet of target
300 Feeds
• Mortis Shield (level 2) – More potent Shield Effect
325 Feeds
• Drain blood – Drains a target of blood (adding vials of blood to players inventory) and kills them in the process. Greater power so can only be used once per day. Does not work on targets with a level higher than the player.

Items:
----------------
Included in the game are 3 new items, all available from purchase from Shady Sam. It also includes 10 different blood potions.
Vampiric Crystal Ball
This is an object which when activated displays the player’s vampire stats (how many times they have fed, craving level, hours left in the sun, vampire level etc).
Blood Refiner
Also available for purchase from Shady Sam, this is an alchemical device which can only be used by vampires, which allows the player to refine hearts and blood to make better blood potions. A decent alchemy skill is required to use it – the higher the skill, the better the potion created. The ingredients that can be used to create potions are Hearts (mortal, vampire and Daedra), bloodgrass, and raw blood.
Vampiric Cloak
Cloak which allows level 1 vampires to reduce the amount of sun damage they take to 1 (instead of 5). This cloak has no effect on Level 2 or higher vampires (excepted adding an additional sun damage level of 1)
Blood Potions
There are many different blood potions in the game, however at present only standard vials of blood can be purchased from Shady Sam, and all others must be created using the Blood Refiner. There are 3 different vials of Daedra Blood, 3 different vials of Vampire Blood and 4 different vials of Mortal Blood. Each vial has different power levels, and some have different effects. They are also quite detrimental to non-vampires (causing disease and possible vampirism!)
----------------
Future Plans
----------------
• Change all NPC vampire’s in the game to use the new vampire package instead of the default, as well as adding random blood potions to their inventory and nearby chests.
• Add vampiric power to “embrace” NPC’s turning them into vampire companions.
----------------
Bugs & Issues
----------------
Currently none known, but let me know if you find any!
This mod should be compatible with virtually any mod out there, except for any that modify Shady Sam, or Vampire Eyes, Age or Appearance. Even so, the conflicts should be extremely minor.
