Short description:
A single player map with five levels
File Name: funeral
Author : Bob Sjollema
E-mail : essjay@powerup.com.au
Web page : essjay@powerup.com.au/~essjay/
Map Info : single player - yes
multi-player - no
difficulty settings - yes (0 = easy,1 = medium,2 = hard)
Brand new map from scratch.
Previous
Maps : Missile, and Escape, both for Quake2. (built with qeradiant).
Editor : KPRadiant (Radiant-the ONLY editor). Ya gotta love that animate capability!
Credits : Xatrix for a great game, and for
including KPRadiant with the game.
Robert Duffy for creating Radiant in the first place.
Authors Note: The levels were built on a P200 mmx with 80Mb Ram, Helios Voodoo2.
This system is below recommended specs, but it ran the original
game ok. There is no "backtracking"
in this pak, so explore everwhere you can before moving on to
the next level; I have tried to indicate those doors which will
take you to the next map. This pak is all about gang warfare, so
don't expect to talk much....if it moves, kill it,
before it kills you. A good example of this is the opening map..
if you walk into church with your piece drawn, you will die. If you mess with
the body on the slab, you will die. There is no
new scripting (I wish), so it's up to you to figure out how to get
thru the crowded sections alive. (lots of shooting!!)The ultimate goal
is to make it to the head-honcho's suburban home, and make things right....
* One more note: Most of this pak is about 'close quarters' combat, i.e.
moving from room to room, in different locations. If this isn't your forte,
don't be shy, give the damn pak a go anyway...you may be surprised.
Known Bugs : None that I am aware of - please inform me if you find one!
(There are a few places where the r_speeds get a bit high, but
the majority of these occur when there is little or no action).
The Story : You have been invited to the funeral of an enemy boss...figuring
it's the right thing to do, you make a point of attending, but soon
after your arrival, you start having second thoughts.....Fortunately,
you had the foresight to have one of you lackeys plant a small
firearm in the entrance foyer of the church...checkout the water before
you go in for the early morning service...Good Luck!
Installing &
Loading : unzip the file into your Kingpin/main/maps directory (if u don't have
a maps directory, create one). Start the game, pull down the console
( ~ ), and type in skill 0,1, or 2, then hit 'enter', then type in
"map church", hit 'enter' again, and the map will load. If you don't have
access to your console yet, open the autoexec. file with notepad, and type in
the line 'set developer 1'(without the punctuation).
Legal hoohaa : This map is not to be distributed in any way, shape or form for
monetary gain. Feel free to pass copies on to whomever, as long
as it's free and in it's original form. I would appreciate being
notified if it is to be placed on any type of free media, i.e. cover discs, etc.
Any comments are welcomed, but please keep them civil. Thanks.
