Details ================================================================================== The original Domination game type from the (UT99) Unreal Tournament: Game of The Year edition is back for Unreal Tournament 2004. This is the real Domination game type, every thing is the same as the original, down to the unlimited use of the translocator! Also included is the new game type of Vehicle Domination. Domination with the use of Vehicles! This upgrade of Classic Domination includes new support for Double Domination maps, by default list Classic Domination internet servers in the Double Domination servers list. Fixed the bugs and yields better performance then the prior version of Classic Domination. The BotAI has had a major overhaul. ================================================================================== 2. System Requirements ================================================================================== Minimum Requirements ---------------------- Unreal Tournament 2004 Recommended Requirements ------------------------ Unreal Tournament 2004 with Patch 3355 or higher and the Editors Choice Edition Bonus Pack. Compatible with AntiTCC 1.18c, UT Comp 1.6, and OLStats 3.01. ================================================================================== 3. Dedicated Network Servers ================================================================================== 3.1 Recommended Install Method ------------------------------ Add the cDOM2 package to your servers UT2004.ini file as shown below [Engine.GameEngine] ServerPackages=cDOM2 While adding the package to your servers ServerPackages list is not required because if it is not in the list, the mod will add itself (a new feature of UT2004). 3.2 Auto-Add Method ------------------- If the auto-add method is used, it is recommended that you change/add to the command line used to start the server, by changing the default game type of the server to cDOM2.cDOM2Game. The base command should look something like this: UCC SERVER cDOM-Malevolence2004?game=cDOM2.cDOM2Game -log=server.log ================================================================================== 4. CDOM2 Settings ================================================================================== UT2004.ini settings: -------------------------------------------------------------- [Group Name] Property=Default Value Property Information -------------------------------------------------------------- [cDOM2.cDOM2Game] bUnlimitedTranslocator=True Allow the Translocator to be Unlimited bAwardAdrenaline=True Award the player with one adrenaline for each, one point they earn their team. bDeviousBots=False True = bot should use guile in hunting opponent (More expensive). bClassicTeamSymbols=True Use the UT99 team symbols on the HUD to match the control points instead of UT2k4's new team symbols. bAdvertiseDDOM=True Advertises the Server in the xDoubleDom servers in addition to the Classic Domination servers. bAddCDOM2ServerName=True Adds [cDOM] to the beginning of the Servers Name. bDebugMode=False Dumps out extra debugging info to the system log. bExtraStatsLogging=False When false, make 100% compatible stat log files. If true, log extra info that may not be compatible with the master server or other 3rd party stat systems. [cDOM2.cDOM_DomPoint] DomMeshClassName="cDOM2.ControlPointMesh" The string Class name of the 'DomMeshClass' bUseDomRing=False Show the xDomRing bHiddenDomBase=False Hides the DomPointBase or allows for a custom StaticMesh to be used. HiddenDomBaseMesh=StaticMesh'CDOM-GameMeshes.DOMpoint.BaseHidden' The staticmesh used if bHiddenDomBase=True DomMeshShader(5)= Array of 5 materials that could be used as the DomMeshes skins. 0=Red, 1=Blue, 2=Green, 3=Gold, 4=Neutral [cDOM2.ControlPoint] bLightCone=False Display Light Cone for clients who have the 'World Detail' set greater then Low. ControlPointMeshes(0)=StaticMesh'CDOM-GameMeshes.ControlPoint.DomRed' ControlPointMeshes(1)=StaticMesh'CDOM-GameMeshes.ControlPoint.DomBlue' ControlPointMeshes(2)=StaticMesh'CDOM-GameMeshes.ControlPoint.DomGreen' ControlPointMeshes(3)=StaticMesh'CDOM-GameMeshes.ControlPoint.DomGold' ControlPointMeshes(4)=StaticMesh'CDOM-GameMeshes.ControlPoint.DomNeutral' [ClassicDom.ClassicControlPoint] These are so the existing cDOM maps will use the new skins. Creating Classic Domination 2 Maps (For both 2 and 4 teams) ================================================================================== 5.1 Pre-Setup --------- The following is not required, yet recommended to make life easier on the mapper. Adding the cDOM2 package to the EditPackages list in your UT2004.ini file. This is so that the required packages and actors will automatically be loaded when you start up Unreal Editor. To enable this, manually add the cDOM2 package to the list, by adding the following line in your UT2004.ini: [Editor.EditorEngine] EditPackages=cDOM2 5.2 Making a cDOM2 Map --------------------- In Unreal Editor 3, begin to create your map. You will want to use cDOM's version of "ControlPoint" for each of the maps Control Points. These can be found in Actor Browser by following this path (with Use 'Actor' as Parent checked): Actor-> NavigationPoint-> JumpDest-> JumpSpot-> GameObjective-> DominationPoint-> xDomPoint-> cDOM_DomPoint-> ControlPoint Note: If ControlPoint is not listed, then you will need to open the cDOM2 package. Place the "ControlPoint" actor in the map for each Control Point. Then there are some properties that you should be aware of. In UnrealEd's Actor Properties for ControlPoint: -------------------------------------------------------------- [Group Name] Property=Default Value Property Information -------------------------------------------------------------- [xDomPoint] ControlEvent=cDOM_Monitor Set this to match the monitors tags (e.g. if using a cDOM_MonitorA actor that has the tag of cMonitorA, set the ControlPoint's ControlEvent to the cMonitorA) PointName=Position The name displayed on the HUD for this Control Point. [GameObjective] (Most of the properties in GameObjective should not be changed. Doing so could cause unknown problems.) DefensePriority=0 The higher the number, the higher the priority for bots to want to defend. DefenseScriptTags=None Match this to the desired UnrealScriptedSequence tag Then bots will use that UnrealScriptedSequence as a spot where they should stand at when defending this control point. ObjectiveName=Control Point x This property should be given a unique name. [cDOM_DomPoint] bHiddenDomBase=False Hides the DomPointBase or allows for a custom StaticMesh to be used. bLightCone=False Display Light Cone for clients who have the 'World Detail' set greater then Low. bUseDomRing=False Show the xDomRing. For cDOM_Monitor's [cDOM_Monitor] bCameraMonitor=False Set this to true only if Monitor is going to be a Camera Monitor (as used in cDOM-DMP-Lament). CameraMonitorTexture= The ScriptedTexture used if this Monitor is a Camera Monitor. The two most import properties that should be set is xDomPoint.PointName and GameObjective.ObjectiveName. Finally set the default game type for the map By going to the menu / View / Level Properties, then set LevelInfo.DefaultGameType to: cDOM2.cDOM2Game or for a vehicle Domination map: cDOM2.VDOM2Game 5.3 Notes --------- When making maps for 2 or 4 team Classic Domination, always set the LevelInfo.DefaultGameType to cDOM2.cDOM2Game or cDOM2.VDOM2Game . ControlPoint does have the methods already built-in for 4 team support. ================================================================================== 6. Uninstalling cDOM2 ================================================================================== Use the Uninstall.exe program located in your UT2004cDOM2 folder. ================================================================================== 7. Troubleshooting ================================================================================== 7.1 Known Issues ---------------- * The maps that were initially released had texture corruption in the maps. This has been fixed in this release. * Network clients that have not yet updated or network clients that has updated, will download the servers version of a map, even though they already have a map by the same name. This is because of in the 2.0.9 version of cDOM2, the texture corruption in the maps from the 2.0.8 was fixed and both versions of the maps use the same name. * Servers that are using NAT and/or possibly a firewall, may list the current map being played in the server browser with having an extra prefix of "DOM-". This can be fixed by opening the necessary ports UT requires and/or stop using the NAT with the server. ================================================================================== 8. Partial Change Log for cDOM2 ================================================================================== Version 2.0.9 -New cDOM map: 1on1 Condemned. -Fixed use of new control point meshes being used in existing maps. -Fixed Texture corruptions in maps. -Fixed online use of cDOM_Monitors. -Added new Server Info that displays the server’s version of cDOM that’s being played. -cDOM2.u and ClassicDom.u packages are backwards compatible. (Clients and servers can be using different versions of those packages without getting Package "Version Mismatch" errors. Version 2.0.8 -3 New cDOM maps Condemned, Cinder Foundry, and Lament -1 VDOM map: Desert-CombatV2 -Performance increase, due to better code optimization. -Corrected texturing of the control point Static Meshes. -Control Point static meshes now use vertex blending. -cDOM2 is compatible with the existing cDOM maps. -cDOM2 is compatible with the existing DOM (Double Domination) maps. -cDOM2 servers now by default are listed under Double Domination servers. -[cDOM] is added to the beginning of servers names by default. -Corrected the team symbol displayed on the HUD to match the control points controlling team. -Added LightCone to Control Points. -Prevent use of the unlimited translocator mutator in cDOM games.
