What is Fact3? Fact3 is a Steampunk Total Conversion game of Unreal Tournament 3 made by a team of 12 students of l’Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue campus Longueuil.

The basic storyline:
35 Pyrons 13739 - Dr. Evan MacLewind creates a machine which would revolutionize the world as we knew it. This machine would bring about a golden age for inventors who would base their works around it to better the lives of the common man and allow their civilization to enter an era of great prosperity.
Dr.MacLewind called his invention, the steam engine.
During centuries and even millennia the Industrial people who called themselves the Children of Steam created more and more inventions to improve their lifestyle and ease their influence over the world around them. However, their desire for power would eventually lead them to cross paths with a people who followed a different path in their evolution. The Industrials were unforgiving to these people who still believed in the ancient ways of magic and witchcraft based on the natural way of the world. Magic could not compete with the might of bullets.
14620 - Their conquest was absolute, the world under their iron fist. Victorious, the need to make new weaponry became pointless and thus technological advancement came to a standstill. Those with a thirst for more power turned their ambition inwards and soon a gap started to form between the various social classes. The bureaucrats living longer and older while citizens carried out a life of hard work in the factories to gain more profits. The materials needed were taken without regard for the future and natural ressources started to decrease at an alarming rate.
15141 - Most natural ressources were gone by this point. Rather than worrying about it those at the top kept pushing for more and more power and riches. The best means they could find was to use the population by pushing them into buying an assortment of useless yet attractive gadgets. Inventors started to resurface as designers and many accessories were made to make others stand out, to enhance one's appearance or to simply appear more creative than the rest. The world began to enter it's Post-Industrialization phase.
15739 - The lack of drinking water grew worrysome. On 35 Pyron during the 2000th birthday of the steam engine, chaos came forth from the remains of the past. Hundreds of mechanical beasts came out from the remains mother nature. Possessing a will of their own and animated by an unknown force they attacked the capital and destroyed all trace of their command causing the population to panic. Among the mechanical terrors whom the Industrials refered to as Rusties, humans could be seen interacting and even controlling the opposing force...
The same forces that the current Industrials forefathers had conquered over a millenia ago had returned, however now their power had evolved.
15750 - The war between the Industrials and the Rusties for control over the remaining natural ressources continues. Several cities had fallen to the RUsties and some had been completely wiped out. The Industrials managed to recover blueprints of various past weaponry and rapidly went into production to be able to defend themselves from the threat. The chain of command was in tatters and so a few volunteer fighters began to gather together and form a new group with their own rules to try an organize their retaliation. Despite all the chaos, the Industrials managed to find a new order.
15752 - The Industrials managed to get their first few victories. Although they had to sacrifice most of their land and homes they were now fighting on equal footing. It is at this point that the war takes a new turn which will decide the fate of both the Industrials and the Rusties. Our story starts here.
